Baccarat is the perfect game for those who want to have a relaxed time at a Las Vegas casino table. There are three outcomes: a player wins, a banker wins or a tie. The dealer does most of the work.
In the video tutorial below, Jeff Civillico explains that players can either bet on the player’s or the “banker”, aka the dealer, side or for a tie. Cards 2 through 9 have face value. A 10, jack, queen, and king card has a value of zero. One is an ace.

The dealer then hands out the cards face-up to the players and bankers. The winner is the hand with the highest number of wins. If the hand of the player is closest to nine, your winnings will be double the amount you bet.
If the banker hand wins, it will pay 95 percent of your wager.
A hand consisting of nine cards and seven cards would give you 16; the first digit is dropped and the game’s value is six.
Probabilities and odds of Baccarat
Although probability plays a smaller role in Baccarat than it does in other card games like Blackjack, it’s still important to understand the probabilities and odds. 7.69% is the chance of getting any card from Ace to King. 30.76% is the probability of getting a zero-value card, as there are four such cards (10, Jack, Queen, and King).
16.25%. This means that you have a good chance of winning a natural eight or nine with your first two cards. 1.79% is the probability that both the banker and player will get a natural of equal value. 0.90 is the chance of a banker getting nine and a player getting 8. 15.35% chances of the player or banker not getting an 8 or 9 are possible. Neither the banker or the player is likely to get an 8 or 9, with the probability being around 65.72%.
The law of probabilities states that for an eight-deck Baccarat game, the banker will win 45.86% and the player 44.62%. 9.522% rounds end in a tie. The banker wins 50.68% while the player wins 49.52%.
